# Launch modes

After this, you'll know which launch mode secures your supply the way you want, and why your launch stays off the radar.

Ballistic has two launch modes: **Block-0** and **Reserve**. You pick one in the launch setup before you fire. The mode decides how your own buys land against the token you're creating, which decides how much supply you hold and how your wallets look to anyone watching.

## Block-0 [#block-0]

Block-0 is the flagship mode. Start here unless you have a reason not to.

Your token is created and all your buys land together in the launch block, atomically: all of them land or none of them do. So you hold your supply before a sniper or bot can react to the token existing.

Then the supply is washed. It moves across separate wallets through ordinary market activity, so the wallets holding it don't form a cluster on the holder map (the chart that shows which wallets hold your token). You get fast supply control and a clean map from the same launch. See [The wash](https://ballistic.app/docs/launch/the-wash/).

The wash is on by default (the **Automatically wash bundle** switch). Turn it off and you run the wash yourself later, from the **Wash Bundle** button on the token page.

**When to use it:** you want maximum supply control with a clean holder map. This is the default choice for most launches.

## Reserve [#reserve]

Reserve works the other way round. Instead of spreading buys across wallets, one custody wallet makes one buy in the launch block, and everything it acquires is parked in a one-sided liquidity position that only you can release.

Your supply is not for sale until you sell, DCA or airdrop it, and nothing sits loose in trading wallets where it could be sniped. The full walkthrough on Pons, from create to withdraw, is on [Reserve mode](https://ballistic.app/docs/launch/reserve-mode/).

**When to use it:** you want your launch supply held in one place and released only on your terms.

## Where each mode is offered [#where-each-mode-is-offered]

| Launchpad | Chain | Modes |
|---|---|---|
| pump.fun | Solana | Block-0, Reserve |
| StonkFun | Solana | Reserve, Bundle |
| Pons | Robinhood Chain | Block-0, Reserve |

On StonkFun the same atomic launch is labelled **Bundle** in the app.

## Choosing a mode [#choosing-a-mode]

| Goal | Mode |
|---|---|
| Maximum supply control with a clean holder map | Block-0 |
| Supply held in one place, released only when you sell, DCA or airdrop | Reserve |

## What can go wrong [#what-can-go-wrong]

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| My holder map still shows a cluster | Automatically wash bundle was turned off, so your buys are still in the wallets that made them | Run the wash from the **Wash Bundle** button on the token page. |
| I can't find Organic or Hybrid | Hybrid was removed, and Organic is no longer offered for new launches | Use Block-0, or Reserve where the launchpad offers it. |
| The mode I want isn't offered on my launchpad | Each launchpad offers its own set of modes | Check [Where each mode is offered](https://ballistic.app/docs/launch/launch-modes/#where-each-mode-is-offered) and pick a launchpad that has it. |
