Launch
Over-the-curve launch
After this, you'll be able to launch a token straight over the bonding curve to a graduated pool in a single move.
On pump.fun, a token starts on a bonding curve. It graduates to a full decentralised exchange (DEX) pool once that curve fills, at roughly 85 SOL of buys. From then on it trades in an open pool like any other pair.
Ballistic can carry a launch over the curve for you. If your Block-0 buys are large enough to complete the curve, Ballistic graduates the token in the same launch. This is an over-the-curve launch, and you turn it on in the launch config before you fire.
When to use it
- You want to launch straight past the bonding curve to a graduated token, instead of waiting for buyers to fill the curve.
- You are running a pump.fun Block-0 launch and have enough SOL to complete the curve.
- You want your token live in a DEX pool from the launch itself, not hours later.
When not to: launches where you don't want to spend roughly 85 SOL of buys up front. If you'd rather let the market fill the curve over time, leave it off.
How it works
A bonding curve is the pricing formula a pump.fun token trades on until enough SOL comes in. Every buy pushes the price up along the curve. Once total buys reach the curve cap of roughly 85 SOL, the curve is full and the token graduates into a migrated DEX pool with its own liquidity.
An over-the-curve launch does both in one launch. Your Block-0 buys are sized to complete the curve, so Ballistic carries the launch over the curve and into the migrated pool in the same move.
It is an opt-in checkbox, Bundle Past Migration, on a pump.fun Block-0 launch paired with SOL (not USD1, and not a community takeover). It is off unless you turn it on.
- With it off, Dev Buy + Bundle Buy can't exceed the curve.
- With it on, about 85 SOL fills the curve and migrates the token to PumpSwap; anything above that buys on PumpSwap after migration, at the post-migration price.
On Robinhood Chain, a Pons Reserve buy that completes the curve graduates the token in the launch block too. See Reserve mode.
Launch over the curve
- Start a pump.fun launch and select Block-0.
- Set your buy amount in SOL high enough to complete the curve.
- Tick Bundle Past Migration in the launch config.
- Fund and launch. Ballistic completes the curve and graduates the token into the migrated pool.
What can go wrong
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| My launch didn't graduate | Your Block-0 buys didn't reach the curve cap | Raise your buy amount so total buys reach roughly 85 SOL, then relaunch with Bundle Past Migration ticked. |
| I don't see Bundle Past Migration | It is a pump.fun Block-0 setting for SOL-paired tokens only | Select pump.fun as your launchpad, a SOL pair and Block-0 as your mode. It doesn't show for USD1 pairs or a community takeover. |
| My buy stopped at the curve | Bundle Past Migration was off, so Dev Buy + Bundle Buy were capped at the curve | Tick Bundle Past Migration to buy past the curve on PumpSwap. |
| Launch cost was higher than expected | Completing the curve takes roughly 85 SOL of buys | Budget for the full curve before you turn it on. If you don't want to spend that up front, leave it off. |
